The Historic Overseer’s Cottage at Children’s Hospital

Historical buildings come with their own set of unique needs. The Children’s Hospital of New Orleans acquired one of the oldest historical buildings in Uptown, but decades of termite damage, water damage, and neglect made the building extremely fragile. When the Children’s Hospital decided to repurpose the building as an expansion of their campus, one of the architects recommended Davie Shoring for the job. We lifted and rotated the delicate structure to align it with the surrounding buildings, then replaced the structural support and foundation. Thank you, Children’s Hospital New Orleans, for entrusting us with the repositioning of this important landmark.
